Milton Bradley is Sad, Not That He Should Be

I think I have a favorite person to write about when it comes to Major League Baseball players. No, it’s not my favorite player, Albert Pujols; it’s Cubs OF Milton Bradley. The guy just says and does so many stupid and unwarranted things that it’s just hard to ignore him.

The man who will make $30 million in the next 3 years is upset over the booing that the Cubs fans have been reigning on him since April. He spoke after Tuesday’s game about how difficult it has been to be comfortable “when you don’t get a hit and get booed every time.” Well Milton, you have a history of being a jerk, and in sports, being a jerk is usually accepted when you do well. Not to mention, you really can’t be a jerk unless you a good player. So it’s expected for YOU do be GOOD all the time. It’s all part of being a jerk!

In response to other comments after Tuesday’s game regarding facing adversity on a daily basis, Bradley added on Wednesday, “I’m talking about hatred, period. I’m talking about when I go to eat at a restaurant. I’ve got to listen to the waiters badmouthing me at another table, sitting in a restaurant. That’s what I’m talking about. Everything.”

Honestly, I’m shocked he didn’t throw something at them or attack them verbally as he would an umpire. But Bradley is simply not performing. He is hitting .259 with 11 homeruns and 35 RBIs. These numbers are well below his career averages and well below the standards of a $10 million per season player.

Ok, now for my two favorite lines from Milton:

“All I’m saying is I pray the game is nine innings, so I can go out there the least amount of time possible and go home.”

Sounds like he loves playing the game.

AND, do you think he’s regretting signing with Chicago?

“I don’t regret anything. I regret that there are idiots in the world, that’s what I regret.”

Cubs fans = idiots. Hey, Milton said it, not me!

Hahaha, these are some great quotes. Seriously he has 35 RBI? What a disaster that is; Garrett Jones has 185 ABs and he has more HRs (14) and nearly that many RBI (28). Ouch Milton.

garrett ones will easily cool off by the end of season, and will end up being another Chris shelton

Of course Jones will, he is a lifetime Minor Leaguer to begin with and as a former Twin I can tell you first hand he isn’t a spectacular player by any means. But point is he is having a better year than Bradley thus far.

[...] love writing about Milton Bradley, you have no idea. This guy was my favorite topic of conversation last season, almost more than writing about Albert Pujols (for completely different reasons). Well this time, [...]
