Fielder & Brewers Walkoff and Fall Over, Rockies Power to Win

In Milwaukee, a little history and a little douche-baggery was made in a 2-1 Brewers win in 12 innings. In the top of the 6th, the Brewers turned a 5-4-3 triple play to end the Giants rally. It was the first triple play turned by Milwaukee since 1999 against the Cubs. In the bottom of the 12, Prince Fielder hit a walkoff homerun on a line drive to right field, but that wasn’t the headline for me. As Fielder rounded the bases he repeatedly pointed to the dugout and untucked his shirt as he rounded second base; although, the Brewers do that after every win because they are slobs. But why was Fielder pointing to the dugout? It wasn’t to excite the team or something like that, but it was to remind them of a choreographed celebration for them to perform as he crossed home plate. As Fielder approached home, he jumped up and as his massive body hit the ground his teammates fell over like bowling pins in unison.

Classy winners

Most people will say this is ‘cool’ and ‘witty’, but I think it’s incredibly childish, especially since the Brewers are 14 games out of first place and had already lost the first two games of this series. Way to show up the league like this is the XFL, Prince. What a joke. This was obviously planned by the team, but who knows for how long. This is Fielder’s first walkoff homerun of 2009, so they could have planned this months ago. Well, they won’t be playing in the postseason this year, so Fielder and the Brewers will have plenty of time to think of a new act for next year! As you can tell, this really annoyed me, and I am really looking forward to Monday’s series opener in Milwaukee as the Cardinals come to town. I know St. Louis already has a grudge with the immature players on this team, so they will come into this series fully prepared for battle.

In Colorado, it was home-run derby as the Rockies and Diamondbacks combined for eight homeruns, but the Rox prevailed in a blowout, 13-5. Colorado got the scoring and homerun hitting started early as LF Seth Smith and 3B Ian Stewart hit homers in a four-run opening inning. Smith powered another homerun in the 7th inning for his second of the game to go along with his 5 RBIs. I will admit I never knew of this guy before this season, but he is really stepping up down the stretch with 15 homers and 48 RBIs on the season. Jorge De La Rosa gave up only two hits and one run in 5 innings for the Rockies and picked up his 14th win of the season. The Diamondbacks rough game was highlighted by CF Chris Young who hit three homeruns on the day. He even got a cheer from the Rockies near sell-out crowd after the third. Then again, it was a blowout at the time, so it’s not like they were worried or anything. With the win and a Giants loss, the Rockies extend their NL wild card lead to 2 games.

This reminds me of Lebron and the Cavs stupid antics. Did you see the pitchers in the back, how delayed they were at falling? If they are gonna do that crap, do it right! They are so trashy, John Sabatino would be a fan of a team like this.
