LaRoche Signs with the Diamondbacks

Adam LaRoche signed a 1-year deal with the D-backs worth somewhere around $4-5 million.  LaRoche called the Diamondbacks his “first choice” from a contract standpoint.  Once the Braves shunned him completely and refused to even attempt a deal he must have known he wasn’t getting the contract he wanted.

Once the Diamondbacks offered him what they did he clearly jumped on it.  LaRoche has a great couple months while with the Braves last year which really boosted his season stats and he finished with 25 home runs and 83 RBI while batting .277-.355-.488.  Those numbers are pretty consistant throughout his career and he should be a nice pick up for the Diamondbacks.

Grade for the Diamondbacks: B+; La Roche is a very good fielding first basemen and they got him at a good rate.  He is a veteran guy who can help the younger D-backs team as well as provide some run scoring opportunities and should hit 22-26 HRs.
