It’s Official: Alex Rodriguez Has No Poker Face

Some people just aren’t good liars. Some people you can tell are lying. Some people can’t help but lie. Some people love lying for whatever reason.

Alex Rodriguez covers all of the above.

On Thursday, A-Rod committed what some say is poor baseball etiquette. But that’s not what this post is really about. The focus of this article is on how Alex Rodriguez is “lying, and loving it.”

In the sixth inning of a game in Oakland, Rodriguez was running back to first base from third after a foul ball, but he took the direct root– which was across the pitcher’s mound. Athletics P Dallas Braden took exception of this, and after Robinson Cano grounded into an inning ending double play, he let Rodriguez get a piece of his mind. If you saw the video, you can easily see that Braden yelled, “GET OFF MY MOUND!”

Like I said, I don’t care whether or not that’s etiquette. It’s the post game joke of an interview that A-Rod gave that I’m focused on.  When approached by reporters after the game, A-Rod played it dumb:

“He just told me to get off his mound. That was a little surprising. I’d never quite heard that, especially from a guy that has a handful of wins in his career. I didn’t even know he was talking to me. I’ve never heard of that in my career. I still don’t know.”

Ok, so there’s 9 Oakland players on the field, and there’s two Yankees (Cano and Rodriguez). You’re telling me that A-Rod didn’t know who Braden was yelling at?? Again, I don’t care who is right or who is wrong, but you can’t tell me Rodriguez truly didn’t know what was going on.

Still don’t believe me? Check out how A-Rod ends this interview, directly after the quote above:

“I thought it was pretty funny, actually.”

So first steroids, now this. A-Rod, you are a pathological liar. Admit it.

………..Oh wait, you never would.

i think arod was shocked that someone would make such a big deal out of nothing. i see guys cut across the grass like that all the time. arod is listed at 6’3 230 and braden is listed at 6’1 184, so im not really sure why he would want to start something.

It’s not really that big of a deal but then again I’m not a MLB pitcher who knows the unwritten rules. What really bothers me is A-Rod’s reaction. A-Rod is such a dick and he plays innocent on every matter. I love how he “forgot” whether he crossed over the mound or not. I don’t believe one thing that guy says and Braden gave him too much credit when he said he is a tremendous talent.

How about, he’s one of the biggest cheaters in baseball and should NEVER be forgiven for that especially since every time he opens his mouth he is lying.

Matt, I just want you to admit he’s a liar. That’s it, just admit he’s a liar. I don’t care about this situation. We’ll just say A-Rod is right, but admit he’s a liar.

I didn’t go around saying this often B.S. (Before Steroids), but I did say it enough: Alex Rodriguez is the biggest phony in sports since Reggie Jackson. EVERYTHING A-Rod says to the media is, at the least, disingenuous (sic) and, at the worst, an out-and-out fabrication. Now I liked Reggie Reggie Reggie when he played, it was just that his humble, soft-spoken schtick wore thin real fast. A-Rod, in comparison, makes it impossible to listen to him. It’s like listening to a lawyer or agent representing an athelete: not a word of truth as well as spin spin spin.
