It’s Official: Alex Rodriguez Has No Poker Face

Some people just aren’t good liars. Some people you can tell are lying. Some people can’t help but lie. Some people love lying for whatever reason.
Alex Rodriguez covers all of the above.

On Thursday, A-Rod committed what some say is poor baseball etiquette. But that’s not what this post is really about. The focus of this article is on how Alex Rodriguez is “lying, and loving it.”
In the sixth inning of a game in Oakland, Rodriguez was running back to first base from third after a foul ball, but he took …

I’ve Had Enough: A-Rod, McGwire, & Steroids

For years, Alex Rodriguez was the most underachieving postseason player based on his regular season statistics in sports history. In 2009, A-Rod ‘exercised his demons’ and had a terrific playoff to help lead the Yankees to their 27th World Series title. In addition to this, Rodriguez won the Postseason MVP award at the 87th annual New York baseball writers’ dinner on Saturday night. Not only this, but A-Rod choked up and started to cry at the achievement that he won and the obstacles he had to overcome.
Give me a break.
Rodriguez …

Lidge Allows A-Rod Revenge, Yankees Lead WS 3-1

Sunday night’s Game 4 in Philadelphia had just about every stroryline of the 2009 season revisited on baseball’s biggest stage. From CC Sabathia going on three days rest to Brad Lidge imploding, the Yankees took advantage of Philly mistakes and won the game 7-4 to take a 3-1 lead in the World Series. Sabathia and Joe Blanton went head-to-head in a matchup that favored Sabathia, but the game stayed close enough to come down to the end. After a comeback by the Phillies, Brad Lidge came into the game and …

Yankees ‘Treat’ Fans with Road Win, Yankees Lead WS 2-1

Moving down I-95 to Philadelphia brought a sense of change for the series. One that for the average sports fan would be better for their viewing pleasure. That better thing is offense. And offense there was. After two tight, well-pitched games in New York, the two teams combined for six homeruns in an 8-5 Yankees win over the Phillies. After a 1 hour, 20 minute rain delay, the two offenses jumped on the anxious pitchers in a long night full of scoring. After falling behind early, the Yankees scored in …

Behind A-Rod and CC, Yanks Lead ALCS 3-1

As much as I want to deny it, you can basically put it in the books that 2009 will be an east coast World Series featuring the Phillies and Yankees.  While the book is open, you might as well just pencil the Yankees in for their 27th World Championship because this team looks UNSTOPPABLE.  I just hate admitting that in writing.
This game was so lopsided and if you didn’t take a look at the box score the game wound up being a 10-1 Yankees win with CC nearly going the distance …

Angels Strike in Extras, Yanks Lead ALCS 2-1

Did you really think the Angels would go down that easily? Well, actually, I did. Although, they are doing what they can to make believers out of themselves, their fans, and the rest of the MLB after an exciting 5-4, 11-inning win over the Yankees in game 3. Los Angeles picks up their first win of the series and improves their series deficit to 2-1 behind New York. The hero in the 11th inning is Jeff Mathis who drilled a ball into the left field gap to score Howie Kendrick all …

NY Magic Continues in Game 2, Yanks Lead ALCS 2-0

On a cold, wet night in New York, the Yankees and Angels were teams just looking to survive the weather conditions and not make a mistake that would cost their team a win. Although, for the second straight night, the Angels were let down by more defensive miscues which led to a 4-3 Yankees win in game 2 to take a 2-0 ALCS series lead.
The Yankees took an early 2-0 lead from a 2nd inning RBI triple from Robinson Cano and a 3rd inning homerun from Derek Jeter. Just what …

A-Rod Does It Again, Yankees Win Series 3-0

The Homerdome’s final game ends in a Minnesota Twins 4-1 loss against the NY Yankees in the ALDS.  From the start of the game you knew it was going to be a close one and it was a very well pitched game until the 9th inning basically.  Yankees starter Andy Pettitte had a perfect game through 4 innings and Pavano threw first pitch strikes to the first 8 batters and set a new playoff career high with 9 Ks.  By the looks of the way these two guys were throwing I …

Twins Strand ‘Em Loaded, Yankees Up 2-0

Where do I begin with this game?  Let’s start with the injury to Matt Tolbert; I will NEVER root for an injury but maybe Gardenhire will finally see that Brandon Harris is so much better, hence him getting an RBI triple as well as hitting a single providing much more offense than Tolbert ever would have.  He even kept the rally in the 8th inning going.  The Twins have been getting monster 2-out rallies over the last week of the season and that is how they scored 2 runs off …
